this old fortress was built in the 13th century by the genovese merchants to control the travel routes across the dobrogea region. it was conquered by the ottomans in late 14th century. it was abandoned in 15th century.
the fortress is built on the top of the hill, next to razelm lake and the entrance in danube delta. you can see on the right side of the picture a bit of razelm lake.
