zimnicea is located in southern Romania, near Danube river. ancient fortress (ruins since 4th century BC) was almost destroyed (80%) by an earthquake and bulldozers in 1977. the rebuilding started afterwards with great effort. after 1989 you could still see unfinished buildings and the ones finished falling apart. the industry and population also declined. the only investments i could discover there are on agriculture.
