albert huet square
the square was formed on the route of the first premises fortified town. the precinct itself dates from the end of the XII century , “prepoziturii” (church institution) existence in the year 1191 is a term “ante quem” for dating the current square area. the buildings were built on the route of the first walls when the fortification lost their role since the second half of the century XIV, with the full fortification of the “upper city”.
the market is dominated by the massive building of the evangelical cathedral, with tall tower of 73.34 meters, the highest in transylvania. piata huet is developed on the surface of the first premises strongholds of the city.
